Sometimes in life you get to catch a fly ball from the home team – a nice little bonus that come unexpectedly and just makes your day. It is sometimes difficult to maneuver through this crazy world and I believe that most of us do the best we can with what we have. Act in a manner for which you have nothing to apologize for and does no wrong to others and you should be just fine.
Sometimes we take actions or pursue a course of action for which we are completely unprepared. But we set off with the best intentions, high hopes and our little kerchief of fear strapped to a pole thrown over our shoulder. These are some of the best journeys and bring forth the greatest successes and happiness, these completely unknown and scary journeys. Even if we are not intently looking around to see what others think of our actions, it is buried within us and that insecurity and fear of other’s opinions is constantly present.
And one day, maybe in just a few months or perhaps years later you get that fly ball. Something pops into your life that gives you complete validation for taking that trip. Out of nowhere I got my fly ball last night. If you would have asked me some time ago I would have longed for that validation from anywhere – I would have kept the visitors fly ball for crying out loud!
But a funny thing happened, I didn’t need it, and that is what made the catch so sweet. I made my journey with purpose and the best of intentions and in the end, it was worth it. If you are on a journey, no matter how big or small, no matter if it appears insignificant to anyone else I encourage you to keep taking those steps. You do not validation nor do you owe anyone a justification. Walk with purpose and when you receive your validation you will be wise enough to know that you never needed it in the first place.
