When Is The End of Your Work Week?

at grocery storeI went out Wednesday night and met a friend for cocktails.  Before I left I was talking to a girlfriend who said she was living vicariously through me because it was a “school night” and I was going out past 9.

I don’t have “school nights”, not because I am not in school but because I don’t have a typical work week.  I do not confine what I do into a 40 hour, five days a week, 8 hours a day only type activity.

It is a part of what I do at all times; no matter day or night, weekday or weeknight, networking event or social occasion – it is always a part of me.  Because I truly love what I do.

My “work week” never ends.

When you have passion for something it becomes a part of you: your actions, your words, you emotions, your plans and your execution.  Your passion is a demonstration not an act that expires at 5:00 Friday afternoon.

There was a time I was more afraid of failing than succeeding and stifled my passion within the confines of a “work” mindset.  It took getting kicked around a bit, cutting corners after leaving a lucrative position to discover that mac and cheese never tasted so good because I had never been so happy.

I realized that passion in a life-sustaining force.

When you are out and about this weekend take a moment to see if you left it at the office or is it a part of your life no matter what the calendar says?

If you left it at the office perhaps it is a sign to leave the office and find the passion.
